An excerpt from Part 1, "Agenda":

"Philosophy has reached a critical point in its development. It has been excluded from the world for much too long. Its domain in the last century has been primarily academic and the issues it is currently addressing have little bearing upon our daily lives. The primary reason is that philosophy has been cursed and dogged by its own self-importance and impenetrable jargon.
Philosophy has been cursed and dogged by its own self-importance and impenetrable jargon.
Initiation into the philosophical circle is difficult to attain for most and is usually mere preparation for pursuits in other fields of study. However, there was a time when philosophical inquiry was the highest form of intellectual activity and was truly involved in generating the basic framework for all societal order. The issue-based nature of analytic philosophy today relies too heavily upon past assumptions and their exploration. The other great indictment is against post-modernist philosophy, for it has gone too far in dismissing our ability to know ourselves and the world. The denial of any absolute standards or measures for our existence opens the door to a very dangerous mindset, one that perpetuates not only apathy but discontent. Polemic arguments serve a function in the pursuit of knowledge. When polemics overtake the quest for knowledge they become their own justification. Infighting and protection of precious opinions leads to nothing of any practical consequence. Argument for argument's sake negates the entire point of philosophy and degenerates into empty rhetoric.

"The intent of this work is to try and begin again, by attempting to achieve a balance between philosophy's often esoteric content and its needed place within the world. The key to this balance is the final acceptance of Paradox as the foundation of Being, of our interactions with each other, of our world. Acceptance admits the limits of our ability to know, and places discussion and sharing of the knowledge we do possess back into our daily lives."
